5 content ideas for TikTok

We know that constantly brainstorming and coming up with fresh, exciting content for your audience on social media can be exhausting. Especially when it comes to TikTok. The platform can have a bit of a learning curve if you’re new and, with over 1 billion monthly active users, you may feel like you’re lost in a sea of other creators. But you can also see high organic reach on the platform… you just have to use the right content.

That’s why we’re here! There are so many different types of content that you can share on TikTok. To get you started, we’ve got some content ideas for TikTok that you can start using right now.

5 Content Ideas for TikTok

Brand collaborations

If you want a content idea that will also help you make money on TikTok, you should consider a brand collaboration. When you partner or collaborate with a brand, they’ll pay you to create content on TikTok that advertises their brand. These sponsored posts that you create will either be posted on your page or on theirs (or both!).

If you know there are specific brands that you’d love to collaborate with, you can always reach out to them (LinkedIn is a great place to do that). Another great way to get a brand’s attention is to create organic, non-sponsored content about the brands you love, encouraging your followers to check them out. Don’t forget to tag the brands!

Tutorials

Tutorials are a great way to offer value to your audience on TikTok. If you have a product or service of your own that you want to advertise, tutorial videos are a great place to do it! Just think of the tutorial video as your virtual salesperson responsible for converting your visitors into customers. If you have a product, show it off in your video the same way you would want your customer to see it if they were shopping in person. If you offer a service, use your video to demonstrate the value of your service and show a little bit of what you do and how you do it.

Of course, you don’t have to have your own product or service to do a tutorial video. You can demonstrate anything that fits your audience’s interests and needs. For example, if you’re in a lifestyle niche with a largely female audience, you could do a hair or makeup tutorial. Or you could film a quick cooking tutorial or break down an easy 5-minute workout routine.

Trending sounds

One of the most unique things about TikTok is its use of sounds. And the algorithm rewards videos that use trending sounds, meaning that your video is automatically more likely to get views. Try to spend a little time each week (or even every day) browsing through the Discover tab to figure out what sounds are trending. Then come up with some ways that you could use that sound in your own way with content that matters to your target audience. And don’t worry about making every video perfect! TikTok is all about having fun — play around and see what works!

Listicles

You may be familiar with listicles on blogs, but this style of content is actually really popular on TikTok too. Listicles are an easy way to create some quick content when you’re running out of content ideas for TikTok. These videos are simple to make and fun for your audience to consume.

Try making a listicle videos of your favorite podcasts specific to your niche or industry (favorite marketing podcasts, fitness podcasts, etc.). Or make a listicle of your favorite tools that you use to create social media content (psst… don’t forget to include Zubtitle for easily adding captions and scaling your content).

Teasers

Just like production companies release teasers for movies they want audiences to get excited about, you can use TikTok to tease upcoming content for your audience. If you want to keep your followers engaged and interested, one of the best ways is by building anticipation. And that’s why it’s a great idea to create content for TikTok that teases something big you having coming up.

If you’re working on anything new (a website, podcast, product/service, program, YouTube video, masterclass, etc.), use TikTok to create some hype. You can share a teaser clip or snippets and sneak peeks of whatever you’re working on so that your audience knows it’s coming and gets excited about it before it’s even available.
