Want to learn how to easily find trending TikTok sounds? We've got some tips & ideas!
If you’re active on TikTok, you’re in good company. The still-rising social media platform has over 1 billion monthly active users and is a fantastic place for creators to expand their audience and get some organic reach — especially when you’re creating the right types of content. But if you want to maximize your reach on the platform (and even get the chance to go viral) then you have to use trending TikTok sounds.
The good news is that it’s not hard to find trending TikTok sounds. We’ve got some simple ideas and tips to help you out!
When you open the TikTok app, you’ll see the 🔍︎ search icon in the upper-right hand corner, simply tap on that and type any keyword you’re interested in into the search bar. You can even just type in “sounds” or “viral sounds”. Now hit search and you’ll see a menu bar across the top of the screen. Navigate to the Sounds tab and you’ll see a list of trending sounds. Browse through these frequently used sounds and see if anything fits your content!
As one of TikTok’s core features, the ‘For You’ page is where most people spend their time on the app and is the perfect place to see what’s going viral today. Scroll through to see what types of videos are doing well today and what sounds those creators are using.
The ‘For You’ page is great because it takes essentially no extra time or effort. If you’re active on TikTok, you’re likely going to be on the ‘For You’ page anyway. You can log a little research while you’re doing your daily TikTok scroll.
If you tap the plus button at the bottom of your screen, like you’re going to upload a video, the very first screen you end up on has a button at the top that says 🎵 Add sound. Tap that button and you’ll be taken to the Sound library, which has a variety of sounds for you to browse through. Here, you can find sounds recommended for you, any sounds you’ve favorited, as well as playlists in a variety of categories including TikTok Viral, New Releases, and TikBiz.
You can also use hashtags to find trending TikTok sounds. When you’re using the search function and see that menu bar at the top, a couple of options down from the Sounds tab you’ll find Hashtags. You can use this section to do some research using relevant hashtags like #viralsounds, #tiktokviralsounds, and #tiktoksoundtrends.
If you browse through the content using these hashtags, you’ll find a lot of creators who are posting about social media marketing, trend spotting, and, of course, what sounds you should be using on TikTok.
Now that we’ve covered ways to find trending TikTok sounds within the TikTok app, let’s talk about some ways you can do research outside of TikTok. First, head over to Spotify. Just open up the streaming service and type “TikTok” into the search bar. Check out the Playlists section and you’ll find tons of options that include top trending sounds from TikTok that have been curated by users. You can even check out TikTok’s Spotify account where they have public playlists of trending sounds, sorted by region.
